“King Tut” — Steve Martin & The Toot Uncommons
I was visiting Planck’s Constant which has an entry entitled “13 Things Egyptian your grandchildren will never see” which got me to reminisce about something Egyptian from my childhood. Namely, the King Tut World Tour in the late 70’s. That also brought back memories of the greatest song ever written about the boy king, “King Tut” by Steve Martin and the Toot Uncommons. I saw it performed live on Saturday Night Live with a great and funny sax solo by Lou Marini stepping out from within a sarcophagus to great laughter from the audience.

Hi! I got your “follow up” question this morning… and No, I haven’t, totally. It’s for my husband’s father. He isn’t into foreign coins and isn’t really a long-term collector but has a lot of coins he inherited and has started collecting the US Mint sets. We considered the three cent coin but my husband says he wants to try to find something with significance - perhaps the date or something. So, not sure if we’ll go with the three cent coin or not. At least Christmas is still a couple months away. =)
