Inlaws' Former Home In Gulfport

This is an exterior shot from the road of my inlaws' home which flooded completely during Hurricane Katrina. Floodwaters exceeded 27 feet which was well above the roof. You can see the FEMA trailer parked out front. They lived in the trailer for a few months before purchasing a new home in nearby Biloxi. This property is currently for sale.

The following are photos I took of the interior of my inlaws' former home. By this time, all the recoverable furniture had been removed, the flooring removed, all the drywall & everything covered in mold removed.

Even though the flood waters contained heavy amounts of salt and also plenty of contaminants, it didn't completely kill this fig tree. Before Hurricane Katrina, the fig tree was well over 15 feet tall. Neither the winds nor the flooding killed it.

In 1983, long before my wife and I married, she bought a can of Mardi Gras beer thinking it might be collectable. It never did become collectable. We found the can on the concrete inside the house structure.
