Carrabelle, Florida

Carrabelle is a small town along the coast on U.S. Highway 98. These photos were taken at its annual Riverfront Festival.

While driving on U.S. Highway 98 to Apalachicola from Tallahassee, you'll pass an interesting landmark that's easy to miss near Carrabelle. The Crooked River Lighthouse is currently awaiting to hopefully be restored. In the meantime, you can visit it as long as you remain behind the fence surrounding it. All around the base of the lighthouse are thousands of scallop shells.
