Apalachicola, Florida
Approximately 75 miles to the southwest is the coastal town of Apalachicola, Florida. St. George Island is nearby which has some extremely nice and usually uncrowded beaches.

Some shrimpboats docked on the river.

Along the same river, I happened to watch this houseboat being towed upriver by a couple of flat bottom boats.

An interesting landlocked boat next to one of the streets in Apalachicola.

The Grady Market, one of many interesting shops in the downtown area of Apalachicola.

While my wife and I were there for a visit where most of these photos were taken, there was a minor brush fire ongoing well across the river. The smoke rose into a cloudlike formation as you can see here.

A rather wooden wizard found in front of a shop in downtown Apalachicola.

As I mentioned earlier, Apalachicola is near St. George Island which has some wonderful white sand beaches. This is just a small sample.
