Here are several
patches I received mostly from fellow Scouters over the years.
These patches were
given to me as a gift by a friend of mine when we were both were Scouts. He got
them on a trip he went on with a contigent group to the Philipines.
This patch above
is the last patch I "earned" in the BSA. I received this one while an
assistant Scoutmaster in Tallahassee. It was for the Jamboree On The Air (JOTA)
which was a weekend set aside for Scouts all over the world to link up via
shortwave radio. With the Internet being so widely available, I'm not sure if
this is even being done any longer.
The
patch above was actually my Dad's when he was an adult leader for the Explorer
post in the early 70's.
Two of
my leadership patches. I was also a troop chaplain for part of a year but don't
think I ever got a patch. I still have the pocket Bible from those days.
I have
no idea of what the patch above signifies. I assume it has to do with something
nautical based upon the rope and anchor, but other than that I have no clue. If
anyone knows more, please email me at saints@nettally.com
and let me know.
