EAGLE SCOUT 1981
I
started in Scouting as a Cub Scout in the late 1960's and eventually became a
member of the Eagle Class of 1981. During that time, I was in three different
Councils in Mississippi. First the Delta Area Council (now defunct - merged with
Chickasaw Area Council) from the 1960's to 1976. Then the Pine Burr Council from
1976 to 1979 (I believe). And finally the Choctaw Area
Council. I chose to
finish up my active career as a Boy Scout in Shubuta, Mississippi as a part of
the Choctaw Area Council so I could receive my Eagle at the exact same United
Methodist Church in Shubuta (on U.S. Highway 45) where my Dad received his almost 30 years previously.

Dad & Mom look SO Serious!
After graduating from college and getting married, I once again became active in Scouting as an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 110 in Tallahassee, Florida (Suwannee River Area Council). I retained that position for several years until my job made it impossible for me to continue. Since then I started a new job at a local television station (WCTV), but unfortunately it also prevents me from being active in Scouting.

During
my time in active Scouting, one of my favorite activities was patch trading. It
was a popular activity at camporees, summer camps, regional jamborees, etc. Even
though I am not active in Scouting on a local level, I still enjoy collecting
patches.

My main interest is trying to update the CSP's and OA flaps from the Delta Area Council, the Pine Burr Area Council and the Choctaw Area Council. I am also interested in collecting various CSP's and OA flaps from the southeastern United States.
